Ask what the percentage measures

A finished formula may state the percentage of a named ingredient, a pre-diluted solution or a multi-ingredient trade blend. Those numbers have different meanings. For example, a Redensyl percentage describes a proprietary complex and should not be presented as a percentage of pure peptide.

Before comparing two values, identify the denominator and material being measured. A milligram quantity per bottle also needs the bottle size to be understood. It still does not say how much reaches a biological target or what effect the finished product produces.

Keep quality and efficacy separate

A laboratory assay may support a label’s ingredient quantity. That is useful evidence for product quality, but it is not a hair-growth trial. A finished-product study in relevant human participants is a different kind of evidence with different measurements.

We would not pay more simply to obtain the highest number in a search result. Ask instead whether the manufacturer explains the claim clearly, whether the formula suits your routine and whether any claimed advantage has actually been demonstrated.

A simple comparison checklist

Save the full product name and source of the claim with the date you checked it. Avoid combining figures taken from a base serum, an optional booster and a different bottle size. If the brand cannot explain what its percentage represents, mark the comparison as unresolved rather than filling the gap with an estimate.
